Background of the Study

Researchers, particularly those in academic settings, often struggle with consistent citation formatting, leading to inefficiencies and mistakes that can affect the quality of their work. AI-based citation formatting tools can automate this process, ensuring accuracy and consistency across multiple styles. These tools utilize natural language processing (NLP) algorithms to analyze the content of research papers and format citations accordingly, significantly reducing human intervention (Smith et al., 2023). At Federal University, Gusau, Zamfara State, implementing an AI-based automated research paper citation formatting tool could streamline academic writing processes and enhance research quality.

Statement of the Problem
Federal University, Gusau has experienced challenges in maintaining consistent citation formatting across research papers submitted by students and staff. Objectives of the Study

  3. To assess the user experience and satisfaction with the automated citation formatting tool among researchers and students.
